Don’t worry, that’s not a deal breaker, we’re happy to invest in you, your training and licencing if you’re the right applicant. This is a great role if you like working outdoors and there will be some weekend overtime, particularly during our busy season. Much of our work is app’ based, so if you can use a phone and if you’re ok with basic formulations/maths equations then we’re off to a great start. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Description - Fumigator This role will see you initially work with at least one team-mate per job and travel between our client sites, predominately in the Port Botany/Banksmeadow area, with some clientele in the outer western suburbs and to the south. You will be providing biosecurity fumigation (containers, sheeted stacks and/or chambers) of goods (import/export/voluntary). Physical fitness/strength is important, as you will need to open/close container doors and lift/carry equipment. You will also be interacting with clients (office and depot), so you’ll need good presentation and communication skills. Added to this, all treatments must be carried out meeting all relevant government and fumigation requirements/procedures (including but not limited to Dept of Agriculture, EPA, AWPCS, all aspects of Safe Work as well as individual depot requirements), so attention to detail is a must. General maintenance and stock management and initiative in reporting issues to the Fumigation Manager or our Managing Director is also part of the role. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Additional – Fumigation Manager If you’re looking for a step up from the Fumigator role, we may have the job for you. Our Fumigation Manager does ALL that our fumigators do (this is not a desk job) plus more. Working with the Managing Director/Owner (who is also a licenced Fumigator) you’ll be responsible for managing and scheduling the team of Fumigators. Lots of personalities make a team and it will be your job to manage and bring the best out of our Fumigators; not just utilising an individuals strengths but identifying and training areas of concern and keeping good morale within the team. Making sure requirements are followed by all is essential, as is identifying and implementing better practices where possible (unless legislated otherwise of course). Equipment management and ensuring the team are on top of their resources is not to be overlooked and let’s not forget client relations! We’d be nowhere without our clients, so great rapport is needed and the ability to trouble shoot and problem solve. __________________________________________________________________________________________________Please note, a 6month probation period applies to both positions and there will be pre-employment medical/background checks, as well as medical and blood tests throughout employment (we do work with gasses, so this to check exposure levels and make sure all our staff remain in good health).
